LIGHT CONTINUOUS
Competition in Light Continuous should be executed as the name implies; with well controlled techniques.
Fighter will fight continuously; until the central Referee says to “STOP”. Techniques MUST be well controlled when they land on the legal targets.
Equal emphasis must be placed on kicks as well as punches.
Light Continuous is the stage between “Semi Contact” and “Full Contact”
The central Referee doesn’t score the fight; they just control the match.
There are three Judges that score the scoring points by a clicker system.
CORRECT CONDUCT
Fighters must have one coach in their corner during the match; however, they must stay off the mat during
the fight. No coach will be allowed to make derogatory remarks about the Opponent; Referee or Judges.
Only the central Referee will be allowed to Stop the fight. A fighter may ask the central Referee to Stop the
fight so that safety equipment can be adjusted or to check an injury. The central Referee; does not have to
stop the time; if he/she feels that it will take away the advantage of the other fighter. Time-Stop will be kept
to a minimum. If the Referee things that a fighter is using Stop-Time to rest or to prevent his opponent
from scoring. A warning will be given and the fighter may be; followig a discussion with all Judges,
disqualified for delaying the fight or refusing to take part.
LEGAL STRIKING AREAS
The following parts of the body may be attacked using ONLY the authorized striking techniques:
HEAD = Front and Side
TORSO = Front and Side
FEET = Below the ankle Illegal Striking Areas
... Throat, Lower abdomen, Back, Legs, Joints, Groin, Top of head, Back of head. Illegal Striking Techniques
Attack with the knee, Elbow, Head-butts, Finger or Thumb and Shoulder. Illegal Actions
Turning one’s back to the opponent, Running away, Fall down, Intentional clinching, Blind techniques,
Wrestling, Ducking below the opponents waist, Attacking an opponent who is falling to the floor,
Attacking an opponent when they are lying on the floor, that is, as soon as one hand or knee touches floor,
Leaving the fighting area, Continue after the command “STOP”, Oil the face or body, Violations of the
rules and regulations - depending how grave they are. Lead to warnings, minus points or even disqualification

LEGAL TECHNIQUES
KICKS = Front, Side, Roundhouse, Hook (sole only), Crescent or Axe (sole only), Spinning Roundhouse
(sole only), Back, All Jumping kicks
HANDS = Punch, Hook, Backfist
Footsweep = Below ankle (Only)
Hand and feet techniques should be used equally. A legal technique strikes a legal striking area. The
authorized striking area of the hand or foot; must make clean and controlled contact. The Judge must see a
technique actually hitting the striking area; to score it. Marking points solely on the sound of a strike; will
not be accepted. The fighter MUST be looking at the point of contact; when using a technique. All
techniques must be used with reasonable but controlled power. Any technique that brushes or pushes an
opponent; will not be scored. If a fighter jumps into the air to do a technique ; he MUST land on his feet; in the fighting area. Scores
HAND = 1pt
KICK TO TORSO = 1pt
KICK TO HEAD = 2pts
JUMPING KICK TO TORSO = 2pts
JUMPING KICK TO HEAD = 3pts
At the end of the fight; the winner; is the competitor who scored more points via the three Judges clickers.
DECISIONS
Criteria for minus points, will be given by the central Referee only, after previous warnings.
* Unclean fighting style
* Constant Clinching
* Constant and continuous turning of the back
* Too few foot techniques
* Excessive contact (if considered to be meant then possible disqualification)
* Knock out (if considered to be meant then possible disqualification)
And any other violation of the rules
All techniques during in fighting (at very short distance, during any clinching) should not be taken into
consideration by the Judges.
The following decisions could bring the fight to an end:
* winner by disqualification of the opponent. In difficult cases, the Referee may also call out a
disqualification; with out giving a warning beforehand, but only after consulting with the Judges.
For example:
* uncontrolled blow
* continuous hitting after the “STOP” command
* un sportsman-like conduct of a fighter such as insulting the referee, Judges, the opponent or showing
aggressive behaviour.
*automatic winner as an opponent “no show”
* if the fighter is stopped because a fighter is injured, then the officials must make a decision.
* 1st violation or exit warning = verbal
* 2nd violation = verbal
* 3rd violation = 1pt to the opponent
* 4th violation = disqualification
Disqualification may be decided if the coach has broken any of the regulations.
* Disqualify, with or without a warning, a fighter or coach that has committed a serious offence.
